Shelburne Museum is an unparalleled and unique experience of American history, art, and design. Burlington Waterfront
The Burlington Waterfront is a natural draw for visitors and residents alike. In the 1980s, then-mayor Bernie Sanders initiated the development of Waterfront Park. By keeping this large, signature space open and available to the public, the city’s eternal connection to Lake Champlain is ensured. Check out the bike path, walk the boardwalk, visit ECHO Center or just sit back and take in a Champlain sunset.
Church Street Marketplace
In 1994, the Marketplace's top block (between the Cherry Street and Pearl Street intersections) was closed to vehicular traffic and resurfaced with brick. In 2005, City Hall Block (between the Main Street and College Street intersections) was the final block to be closed to vehicles and resurfaced with brick.
The Church Street Marketplace is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been designated as one of America’s Great Public Spaces by the American Planning Association.
